Contact information for privacy-related requests to “Instagram”

Meta has announced its intent to use any public posts that users have shared on its services for training so-called “Artificial Intelligence (AI)” systems starting on May 27, 2025 unless they object. While we and other data protection organisations across Europe believe that this is in violation of applicable law, we do recommend that you submit an objection to Meta as soon as possible if you don’t want your data to be used for this purpose. The only reliable way to do this is by using the web form for the respective service:

• Object to your information being used for “AI” at Facebook
• Object to your information being used for “AI” at Instagram

As far as we are aware, there is currently no form for objection to your information being used for “AI” at WhatsApp. We believe that Meta’s policy does not apply to your private WhatsApp messages since those cannot be classified as public posts.
